Ramaj Highlights Critical Role of First Working Group in European Integration

Gazeta Express – 24/04/2026, 22:05

Venera Ramaj, a high-ranking official for the rule of law representing the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kosovo within the “Tempus” program, has emphasized the significance of the initial working group within the country’s European integration efforts. Ramaj views this group as a crucial and key component of the overall process. Speaking on the matter, Ramaj stated that any stagnation within this working group – encompassing the necessary reforms and subsequent steps – would negatively impact the entire trajectory of European integration for Kosovo.

“If there is stagnation in the first working group of reforms and steps that still need to be taken, then the entire European integration process stagnates,” she explained. Ramaj’s assessment reflects a widely held view that consistent progress in this foundational stage is paramount. Both Kosovo and its member states within the European Union recognize the direct correlation between the successful completion of these initial reforms and the continued momentum toward full integration.

The ongoing work within this group remains a central focus for advancing the country’s ambitions.
