Pejë Prosecutor’s Office Addresses Family Violence Concerns in Joint Meeting

The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Pejë convened a collaborative meeting with representatives from local and international organizations to address the effective management of family violence cases. Led by Basic State Prosecutor Lumturije Vuçetaj and Deputy Prosecutor Arlinda Nallbani Gacaferri, the session focused on improving responses to incidents of violence within families. Participants included officials from the Basic Court of Pejë, the Kosovo Police, Social Work Centers, shelters, and the Peja Regional Hospital.

Representatives from psychological support services and international missions – specifically EULEX and OSCE – were also present. The discussions centered on the current processes for handling family violence cases, with a particular emphasis on identifying areas for improvement. Key topics included streamlining case management and bolstering cooperation between the various agencies involved.

The meeting underscored the importance of a coordinated approach to tackling this complex issue. The basic prosecutor’s office aims to strengthen its capacity to investigate and prosecute cases of family violence, ensuring appropriate support is provided to victims. The goal is to enhance the overall response to this serious concern within the Pejë region.
