Vandalism Disrupts Classes at Shtip Elementary School

Shtip, North Macedonia – April 30, 2026 – Regular classes at the “Vanço Përqe” Elementary School in Shtip have been suspended following an incident of vandalism that has affected over 1,100 students. The disruption was confirmed by school director Kokan Radev, who addressed the media regarding the situation. The vandalism occurred at the school, located in Shtip’s city center, resulting in significant damage to school property.

According to Radev, smart boards, tables, inventory items, and computers were targeted. The perpetrator utilized spray paint and sharp objects to inflict damage across multiple classrooms, and obscene messages were spray-painted on the walls. Notably, the vandal was unable to access the school’s chemistry lab, which remained secured.

Radev indicated that substantial material damage was sustained within the single-classroom areas. School officials are currently assessing the full extent of the damage and working to restore the school to a safe and functional environment for students. Authorities are investigating the incident and seeking information related to the vandalism at the elementary school.
