Stoilkovic: You have only worked for Albanians, now it is working for everyone! Bexheti: Are you the minister for relations with the Serbian Republic?

Minister Stoilkoviq Faces Scrutiny Over Community Relations Efforts

Skopje – During a parliamentary session on April 30, 2026, Minister for Relations between Communities, Ivan Stoilkoviq, faced pointed questions regarding the scope of his ministry’s work and its impact on diverse communities. Deputy Blerim Bexheti of the FE party challenged the minister, questioning whether his role primarily focused on relations with the Albanian community or broader community relations. “Are you the minister for relations with the Serbian Republic?” Bexheti asked, prompting a direct response from Stoilkoviq.

The deputy further pressed the minister to demonstrate tangible results and emphasize the preservation of the Ohrid Agreement. In response, Stoilkoviq accused the BDI (Besarrik Demokratik Italic) party of a singular focus on Albanian interests. He offered a proposed visit to Kumanovo to showcase his engagement with the Albanian community, stating he believed the public would be surprised by the initiative.

The exchange highlighted ongoing debate surrounding the minister’s responsibilities and the Ministry’s efforts to foster positive relations across all communities within North Macedonia. The session underscored the importance of demonstrable progress in maintaining stability and cooperation, particularly concerning relations with neighboring entities.
