Man Arrested in Mirdita Following Cannabis Seedling Discovery
Mirdita – Authorities have arrested a 27-year-old man, identified only as K. Gj., a resident of Shënkoll village, in connection with the cultivation of cannabis. The arrest occurred following an operation, dubbed “Initial Phase,” targeting the cultivation of narcotic plants within the Mirdita region.
Police discovered a makeshift greenhouse constructed using polystyrene platforms, containing suspected cannabis seedlings. The discovery was made during routine controls and proactive investigations conducted by the Mirdita Police Commissariat. The objective of these operations was to identify and address instances of early-stage cannabis plant cultivation.
The suspect was apprehended near the improvised greenhouse. Authorities seized the polystyrene platforms and the cannabis seedlings found within. “Operation ‘Initial Phase’ is underway,” stated a police spokesperson.
“The aim is to disrupt and dismantle cultivation networks at their earliest stages.”
