Kosovo to Hold Early Elections on June 7th
Pristina, Kosovo – Acting President Albulena Haxhiu has announced the scheduling of early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, set to take place on June 7th. The decision follows a consultative meeting convened to determine the election date. The meeting, attended by fifteen political parties out of seventeen invited, involved discussions regarding proposed election timelines.
Haxhiu stated that the date was established after careful consideration of proposals submitted by the participating parties. According to Haxhiu, the process adhered to legal and constitutional deadlines. The assessment included reviewing recommendations from the Central Election Commission and recognizing the importance of broad voter participation.
“I concluded the meeting with leaders and representatives of political parties,” Haxhiu explained. “Seventeen political parties were invited to the meeting; 15 of them were present. I heard proposals for the date of the elections.”
The upcoming elections represent a key step in the political process for Kosovo, following a period of governmental transition.
Further details regarding the election procedures will be released by the Central Election Commission.
