Wind Park Project Nears Completion in Zatriq, Kosovo
Progress is advancing on the Zatriq Wind Park, part of the Rahovec municipality, with anticipated operations slated for July of this year. The ambitious project, a joint investment of approximately €110 million from “Çalık Renewables and Eurokos,” is designed to substantially bolster Kosovo’s clean energy production capacity. KosovaPress reports that the wind park’s total installed capacity is 70 megawatts, projected to generate approximately 185 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually.
This output is expected to meet the energy needs of approximately 45,000 households within the region. The Zatriq wind park comprises twelve wind turbines, each boasting a capacity of 6.1 megawatts. Each turbine features a tower height of 120 meters, with overall project heights reaching up to 199 meters.
At its peak construction phase, the project employed approximately 175 workers, primarily contractors. The development represents a significant step in Kosovo’s transition to renewable energy sources. The completed wind park will contribute substantially to the region’s energy supply.
The project’s location in Zatriq highlights the municipality’s commitment to sustainable development and increased energy capacity.
