Stunning victory in Naples – 25 hostages and escape through sewers

Armed Group Robs Naples Bank, Taking Hostages

Naples, Italy – An armed group conducted a bank robbery at a Crédit Agricole branch in Naples on Tuesday, taking 25 people hostage before escaping via a sewer tunnel. The incident unfolded during daylight hours, with three suspects entering the bank and holding employees and customers for approximately two hours. According to reports, the robbers wore masks featuring images of well-known actors.

Despite the armed nature of the situation, hostages later described the operation as professionally conducted, noting a lack of physical violence. The group confined individuals to a single room while targeting safety cassettes within the bank. Law enforcement, including elite Carabinieri units, were preparing a potential forced entry when the suspects utilized a pre-existing hole in the floor to flee into the city’s sewer system.

The robbery focused on safety deposit boxes rather than the bank’s main vault. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the event and pursuing leads regarding the suspects’ escape. The hostages were subsequently released unharmed.
