Agreement Reached on June 7th as Election Date
Following a consultative meeting with acting President Albulena Haxhiu, opposition parties have confirmed an agreement on the date for upcoming elections. The date set for the elections is June 7th. Bedri Hamza, chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDK), stated that the PDK would respect the finalized date.
“June 7th was the preferred date for holding the elections,” Hamza indicated. He further added that the PDK will be finalizing its electoral list with new candidates and figures. Ardian Gjini, the deputy chairman of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo (AAK), also corroborated the agreement on June 7th as the election date.
“Observations from the meeting confirm an agreement to hold the elections on June 7th,” Gjini explained. “These elections represent an opportunity for Kosovo, and the AAK is preparing to offer the country stability and a clear path forward.”
The confirmation of the date marks a key step in the process leading up to the elections.
