VV Deputy Withdraws from Peace Board Proposal Amidst Parliamentary Debate
Prishtina – Vetëvendosje (Self-Determination) deputy Arbëreshë Kryeziu Hyseni has announced the party’s decision to step aside from the proposed membership on the Peace Board, following disagreements within Parliament. The move comes amidst ongoing discussions surrounding the agreement for Kosovo’s potential inclusion in the board. Hyseni clarified that Vetëvendosje does not intend to alter the core content of the agreement.
“We not change the content of the agreement,” she stated, echoing previous comments by Professor of International Law Enver Hasani, who had asserted the agreement’s inviolability. Instead, the deputy indicated the party’s focus is on revising a specific “paragraph of an article in the draft law.” Hyseni explained that this intervention was deemed necessary, citing a desire for adjustments. A joint agreement has been reached to establish a working group to address these concerns.
The party maintains its belief that it possesses the necessary understanding regarding the international agreement. The aim remains to support ratification, with Vetëvendosje emphasizing its commitment to upholding the existing terms.
