LDK Criticizes Reduction in Agricultural Subsidies Following Program Approval
Kosovo’s LDK reacted sharply to the approval of the 2026 agricultural program, following statements from Agriculture Minister Armend Muja. LDK deputy Besian Mustafa voiced strong concerns regarding the program’s impact on Kosovo’s farming sector. Mustafa stated that the 2026 agricultural program includes a reduction in subsidies for farmers and agricultural producers across the board.
The program allocates 77.5 million euros to support the sector. “The VV has delivered a significant setback to agriculture in Kosovo today,” Mustafa wrote. “The reduction in subsidies for farmers and agricultural producers represents a concerning development.”
The LDK representative questioned the government’s commitment to supporting the agricultural community, specifically addressing those involved in farming, production, gathering, and processing.
Mustafa’s comments highlight a point of contention surrounding the program’s potential effects on the livelihoods of Kosovo’s farmers. The approval of the 2026 agricultural program marks a key moment in the sector’s future, with ongoing debate regarding the level of support provided to farmers.
