Man Extradited from Spain Following International Arrest in Drug Trafficking Case
A 26-year-old man, Algjert Zeneli, has been extradited from Spain following an international investigation led by Albanian authorities. Zeneli is wanted by the Albanian justice system for alleged involvement in the cultivation of narcotic plants. The investigation, part of the concluding phase of the coded police operation “The Wanted,” centers around an operation that occurred in 2023.
Zeneli is accused of cultivating approximately 10,900 narcotic plants within Shkodër territory in collaboration with other individuals. A court in Shkodër previously imposed a prison sentence and security measures against Zeneli for criminal offenses including “Cultivation of Narcotic Plants,” “Production and Sale of Narcotics,” “Organized Criminal Group,” and “Commission of Criminal Acts by Criminal Organizations.”
The operation targeted a network involved in the illicit production and sale of narcotics. Authorities allege Zeneli’s activities took place during the year 2023.
The extradition marks a significant step in bringing to justice those involved in this criminal enterprise and disrupting the cultivation of plants used in the production of narcotics. Further details regarding the ongoing investigation are pending.
