Defense Concludes Final Statements in “Banjska” Case
The final phase of the trial for those accused in the September 2023 attack in Banjska concluded today at the Basic Court in Pristina. Blagoje Spasojeviq, Vladimir Toliq, and Dushan Maksimoviq are formally charged in connection with the incident. The proceedings were conducted under heightened security measures.
Lawyer Ljubomir Pantoviq presented the defense’s concluding statement, arguing that the indictment lacks a direct connection to his client’s involvement. Following Pantoviq’s presentation, Spasojeviq addressed the court, stating he had contemplated accepting responsibility for his actions. “I have often thought about accepting guilt, and if this indictment by the Special Prosecutor’s Office were real, I would do it,” Spasojeviq said.
He further clarified, “I am guilty of it.”
The court heard that Spasojeviq had considered admitting guilt, reflecting the seriousness of the charges related to the events surrounding the Banjska attack. The trial continues with the prosecution’s final arguments. —
