Angamaly, Kerala – On Friday, a captive elephant caused significant damage and resulted in one fatality near a temple in Kidangoor. According to reports, the animal became violent, attacking several individuals in the vicinity. Initial reports, citing Telegrafi, indicated the elephant was observed attacking parked vehicles near the temple grounds.

The animal overturned a car multiple times, leading to its complete destruction. Additionally, several parked motorcycles sustained damage. The incident resulted in the death of a 40-year-old truck driver and the injury of his mahout.

Forest officials responded to the situation and successfully sedated the elephant after approximately three hours of disruption. The animal also caused damage to portions of the temple structure before being brought under control. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the elephant’s behavior and assessing the full extent of the damage.
