Kosovo Begins Accreditation Process for Early Elections
PRISHTINA – The Central Election Commission (CEC) commenced today the operational phase of its plan for the upcoming early parliamentary elections, slated for June 7th, 2026. This marks the start of a critical accreditation period for a range of participants vital to the election process. Beginning today, the CEC has opened a 26-day window for accrediting observers representing political parties.
Simultaneously, the commission is accepting applications from non-governmental organizations and media representatives seeking to observe the elections. This accreditation process is a key component of ensuring transparency and accountability in the upcoming elections. All registered political parties within Kosovo are required to formally notify the CEC of their intention to participate in the early parliamentary elections.
This declaration is a mandatory step within the operational plan. The CEC’s actions today reflect a continued commitment to a smooth and orderly election process, with a focus on robust observation and media engagement. The accreditation process for observers will conclude on May 30th.
