North Macedonia’s Minister Hoxha Highlights Sustainable Water Management at International Forum
Istanbul, Turkey – Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Muamet Hoxha, participated in the ministerial table of the 5th International Forum on Water, held today in Istanbul. The forum addressed critical issues surrounding global water resources and their management. During his address, Minister Hoxha emphasized the vital importance of sustainable water management, particularly within the context of the evolving geopolitical landscape and the intensifying climate crisis.
He underscored the need for collaborative strategies to address these complex challenges. Hoxha detailed North Macedonia’s commitment to aligning with European standards in water management. This includes the active implementation of the Water Framework Directive established by the European Union.
The minister stressed that effective solutions require robust regional cooperation. “No single country can adequately respond to these global challenges independently,” Hoxha stated. “We require joint solutions, built upon data sharing, the exchange of expertise, and coordinated action among nations.” His participation in the international forum reflects North Macedonia’s dedication to proactive engagement in addressing shared concerns regarding water security.
