Sibel Halimi Denies Reports of Dismissal from Culture Ministry Role
Pristina – Sibel Halimi, former Minister of Culture in Pristina Municipality, has issued a statement addressing circulating reports regarding her dismissal from the position. The statements, published on May 5th, 2026, categorically state that the reports of dismissal are inaccurate. Halimi clarified that she had previously announced the completion of her mandate in December 2025.
She explained that her engagement with the Directorate of Culture, which she had served since the prior mandate, was nearing its end. “Clarification. I want to clarify that reports of ‘my dismissal from the position of Director of Culture’ are not accurate,” Halimi stated.
She indicated that subsequent developments related to the process were handled in accordance with established institutional practices. The statement emphasizes that Halimi’s announcement in December 2025 signaled her intention to conclude her work within the Directorate of Culture. The Mayor of Pristina was not directly involved in the statement.
This clarification comes after initial reports concerning the status of Halimi’s role within the municipality’s cultural institutions.
