This Wednesday, May 6th, tributes will be paid to Servet Pëllumbi, the former Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, following his passing. A formal ceremony honoring his life and career is scheduled to commence at 9:00 AM with the arrival of the hearse in Skanderbeg Square. The body will then be transferred to the National Opera and Ballet Theater for morning tributes.

According to reports from A2CNN, the initial tribute period will run throughout the morning. A subsequent official farewell ceremony is planned for 12:30 PM. Servet Pëllumbi, often referred to as the “professor” within the Socialist Party, held a significant role during a challenging period when former Socialist Party leader Fatos Nano was incarcerated.

He later served as Parliament Speaker. Following the ceremony at the Opera and Ballet Theater, Mr. Pëllumbi’s remains will be buried in the Sharr Mountains cemetery.
