Public Advocate Raises Concerns Following Specialized Chambers Report

Public Advocate Naim Qelaj has initiated a diplomatic effort following the release of a report assessing the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo. The letter, delivered via diplomatic channels, was addressed to the funding states of the Chambers, including the United States, Switzerland, Norway, Turkey, and Canada. It also included the “Preliminary Assessment of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo” report itself.

Qelaj expressed concerns outlined within the report’s findings, communicating them directly to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the U.S. Department of Justice. Informational letters were similarly dispatched to the foreign ministries of Switzerland, Norway, Turkey, and Canada.

The report was also circulated to Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. The Specialized Chambers of Kosovo receive significant funding from a consortium of states, and this action highlights ongoing scrutiny of the institution’s operations and performance. The letter’s purpose is to ensure continued support and address any identified issues.

The focus remains on the report’s recommendations and the ongoing need for robust funding to maintain the Chambers’ functions.
