LSDM Leader Accuses Government of Misinformation Regarding EU Path
Skopje – Venko Filipce, leader of the Internal Democratic Alliance (LDSM), addressed reporters today, alleging deliberate manipulation by Prime Minister Hristjan Mickoski and Minister Timço Mucunski regarding the country’s progress toward European Union membership. Speaking at a press conference, Filipce accused the government of constructing a narrative designed to obscure the reality of North Macedonia’s integration prospects. Filipce stated that Mickoski and Mucunski are actively creating “spin” and conflict to deflect attention from underlying issues and the government’s apparent reluctance to pursue EU accession.
He asserted that the administration consistently employs tactics to mislead the public and fabricate narratives concerning the country’s European integration efforts. “Mickoski and Mucunski continue to lie to citizens,” Filipce declared. “Just as the historical commission operated discreetly for a year, they are generating an artificial conflict to conceal the truth.” Filipce questioned the extent of the government’s disinformation campaign, demanding an end to what he described as “more lies and spin.”
The LSDM leader’s comments follow ongoing criticism of the government’s approach to European integration, with Filipce repeatedly emphasizing the need for transparency and a commitment to the “truth” regarding the country’s future.
