Large quantities of narcotics, exceeding 500 kilograms, and serious weaponry were seized last year. The prosecution is seeking pre-trial detention for the suspect who voluntarily surrendered himself.

The Basic State Prosecution in Prizren has announced the surrender of a suspect, F.N., a 46-year-old man originating from Maqitevë, Suhareka Municipality. Law enforcement had been actively pursuing this individual. In connection with this criminal case, the Basic State Prosecution in Prizren, alongside the Kosovo Police, executed an operation on September 16, 2025.

This operation resulted in the discovery and seizure of a large quantity of a narcotic substance. Specifically, 512 kilograms of cannabis sativa – commonly known as marijuana – were found in various stages of processing and drying at a premises, a stable, located in the village of Maqitevë within the Suhareka Municipality. During the operation, several additional items were seized.

These included a mortar, often referred to as a hand grenade, a rocket launcher, a firearm, substantial ammunition, a tractor with a trailer, and various work tools and equipment. The prosecution continues to investigate this matter.
