Application opens for subsidies for private sector workers

The acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, has announced the commencement of the application period for subsidies intended for workers in the non-public sector. Through an official public notice, Murati detailed the procedural requirements for accessing these subsidies, directing interested parties to submit their applications online via the Kosovo Tax Administration platform. The guidelines emphasize that each worker must submit an individual application, and all submitted data must be verified for accuracy to ensure timely processing.

A critical requirement noted in the notice specifies that the designated bank account must be held exclusively in the name of the direct beneficiary. Furthermore, the administration warned that any applications found to contain discrepancies or errors will be subject to rejection. The deadline established for submitting these applications is September 5, 2026.

Eligibility for these subsidies extends across several groups within the labor market. Specifically, the program covers workers employed in the private sector, as well as those affiliated with non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Additionally, workers in public entities that are not paid directly through the state payroll system—such as public enterprises and the Radio Television Kosovo (RTK)—are eligible to apply.

These measures aim to provide targeted financial support to workers across various non-state employment sectors.
