During a recent media conference held at the Health Insurance Fund, Deputy Director Sedat Bislimi, alongside General Director Sasho Klekovski, presented the primary findings derived from the analytical report concerning hospital treatment spanning the period of 2023 to 2025. The analysis revealed that in 2025, a total of 194,230 patients received care. Financially, the report noted a 24% overall increase in contractual budgets, coupled with a more significant 33% budget increase allocated to university clinics.
Furthermore, the data highlighted a measurable 2.9% reduction in cardiovascular hospitalizations. On the quality metrics front, an improvement in the Case Complexity Index (CCI) was documented across nine of the twelve regional hospital facilities nationwide. Speaking at the conference, Bislimi emphasized a notable trend in patient care delivery.
He pointed to an increasing volume of complex cases being managed outside the capital city of Skopje. This shift, he stated, serves as evidence of the strengthening capacity of regional healthcare infrastructure and suggests a gradual, positive improvement in the overall standard of patient treatment available across the country. The report underscores a developing decentralization of specialized medical services.
