The president’s matter – what Kurti said and what the representatives of opposition parties stated?

Six days have now passed since the Constitutional Court’s judgment, which has also extended the Assembly of Kosovo’s timeframe by 34 days to select a new president. This period of six days has gone by without any discernible progress toward a resolution concerning the election of the president. Despite the court’s ruling, there has been little movement towards an agreement.

The day prior, Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced his intention to send invitations to the heads of the opposition parties to discuss the process of electing a new president. During a press conference, Kurti explained that he lacked sufficient time for internal deliberations regarding forthcoming meetings. He nonetheless stressed the critical need to attain a wide-ranging consensus on this important matter.

The focus remains on securing a broad agreement to determine the next president, acknowledging the allotted days and the court’s stipulations. The situation continues to center on the election of a president.
