Clash in the Albanian Parliament, Rama reacts to Shehaj and Kapri

During the parliamentary vote concerning a criminal amnesty bill in Albania, the proceedings were interrupted by two opposition deputies: Agron Shehaj, leader of the “Mundësia” party, and deputy Erald Kapri. The disruption occurred because the Albanian government head, Edi Rama, was present at the plenary session, arriving shortly before the scheduled vote time of 6:30 PM. Protesters present at the session began chanting slogans demanding that Rama leave the premises.

Citing his presence, Shehaj and Kapri formally demanded that the government head exit the building. Edi Rama did not remain at the site for long. Subsequently, he posted a reaction on social media platforms.

In his post, he shared a video documenting the confrontation within the Parliament involving the two opposition deputies. While his statement contained strong rhetoric directed at the opposition, the core event reported is the political standoff surrounding the amnesty vote. The incident highlighted significant political tension within the Albanian legislature.

The opposition’s action successfully stalled the vote, leading to a public confrontation involving key political figures. Rama’s subsequent public statement served to frame the confrontation, documenting the exchange between the ruling party and the dissenting members, including Kapri.
