Berisha comments on Rama’s statements in the Financial Times: Hatred towards Albanians

Sali Berisha, leader of the Democratic Party (PD), criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama’s remarks made to the Financial Times, characterizing them as inappropriate for an international media platform. Berisha specifically condemned what he described as unqualified insults directed at Albanians during the interview. He stated that Rama’s reaction was “shocking” both to the journalists and the international audience present.

In addition to criticizing the remarks, Berisha addressed public demonstrations. He acknowledged the participation of tens of thousands of citizens who gathered in Tirana’s streets and boulevards early in the morning. These citizens were protesting, demanding the immediate departure of what he termed the “narcodictator.”

Berisha extended his call to all Albanian citizens, regardless of age, to participate in such protests whenever necessary.

His criticism of the Prime Minister’s statements underscored a significant political disagreement regarding international representation and public discourse. The comments from Berisha highlight a continued political tension between the leaders and the opposition figures.
