Netanyahu: We will not withdraw from Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed that Israel intends to maintain a security zone in Southern Lebanon “for as long as necessary.” During a ceremony honoring new military officers, Netanyahu announced that Israel’s presence in the region has evolved from mere area control to active “ground command” operations, including positions near Beaufort. He explicitly stated that Israel has no plans to withdraw. “We will not withdraw,” Netanyahu asserted, adding that the objective is to “protect the residents of the north and all Israeli citizens there.” He further indicated that both he and Defense Minister Israel Katz have directed the Israeli army to take action against any perceived threat directed at Israeli forces or communities in Northern Israel.

Adding to the military directives, Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a warning to Iran, cautioning against any retaliatory actions in response to Israeli military operations taking place in Southern Lebanon. The statements underscore a sustained commitment to military presence and security operations in the area. Netanyahu’s remarks emphasize the strategic depth of Israel’s current posture, signaling that the military engagement is intended to remain in place to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens and communities in the north.
