Taravari: From big promises to unconditional delivery

Arben Taravari, leader of the Alliance for Albanians, criticized the VLEN party’s performance during its two years in government. In a Facebook post, Taravari stated that the VLEN has failed to meet its significant promises to the Albanian electorate. He argued that the public has not witnessed the promised changes, citing instead a pattern of silence, excuses, and capitulation.

According to Taravari, several key areas have seen no progress. He specifically mentioned the lack of constitutional amendments, the failure to advance the country’s path toward Europe, the weakening of the Albanian language, and insufficient safeguards for proper representation. Furthermore, he noted a deficiency in substantial investments directed toward Albanian municipalities.

Taravari also addressed the issue of the party’s stated intention to be vocal within the government structure. He contended that VLEN has diminished in influence, becoming merely an echo of decisions made by other parties. He concluded by stating that the Albanian voters did not elect ministers who are content to await the end of their terms and remain silent when addressed by their constituents.

The criticism suggests a significant divergence between the initial campaign promises made by VLEN and the current administrative reality.
