Osmani: The results of VLEN are depressing, they blocked the country’s European path

Deputy Chairman Bujar Osmani expressed significant concern regarding the trajectory of the country’s integration efforts, citing the perceived failure in the pursuit of a european path. Osmani stated that, despite initial commitments made by the government to inject dynamism and credibility into the process during the first six months of its term, tangible progress toward the European Union remains lacking. According to Osmani, the current results indicate a period of stagnation rather than acceleration.

He contrasted the stated goal of advancing a comprehensive European agenda with what he characterized as the implementation of fragmented, daily policies. In his assessment, the focus has shifted away from deep structural reform and toward reactive, improvised measures. “The results are disappointing,” Osmani stated.

“The state has not advanced even one substantial step toward the European Union. Instead of acceleration, we are witnessing stagnation. Instead of comprehensive reforms, we are seeing improvisations, and instead of a cohesive European agenda, we are managing daily policies.”

Osmani further highlighted the perceived international disconnect, noting that while other nations are reportedly presenting updated agendas in the EU, his view is that the country has not been included in this momentum.

His comments underscore a divergence between the stated political aspirations and the observable policy actions concerning the nation’s commitment to european standards.
