Over 11,000 Kosovo citizens enter Albania in just four hours

High traffic volumes were observed at the Morina Border Crossing on Saturday morning, resulting in significant queues entering Albanian territory. Authorities attributed the increased movement to the ongoing weekend and peak tourist season. A substantial number of citizens from kosovo were reported heading to the Albanian coast and various national tourist destinations for holiday travel.

To manage the influx, border officials activated all available control lanes to handle the high volume of cross-border movement. Simultaneously, the region experienced increased traffic congestion in the direction leading toward Morina. This secondary surge in vehicular movement followed two distinct accidents that occurred in Vërmicë, near Prizren.

These separate incidents collectively involved a total of six vehicles, resulting in seven reported injuries among those involved. The confluence of high tourist demand and localized accident reports contributed to the overall strain on regional transport infrastructure. Border management implemented full operational capacity to process the flow of vehicles.

While the primary focus remained on facilitating the movement of citizens traveling for leisure, the subsequent reports of accidents underscored the need for heightened caution across the connecting routes utilized by those traveling from kosovo and surrounding areas. Authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure the continued safe passage of all travelers.
