Former President Vjosa Osmani addressed reports regarding efforts to remove the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku. During interactions with the press, Osmani stated that no formal signatures have been submitted to initiate the removal process for Abdixhiku. Osmani confirmed that her day involved multiple engagements, noting, “We have not only met with Abdixhiku; we have had many other meetings.
We have discussed how to move forward even more strongly.” She advised that any further inquiries regarding the matter should be directed to the LDK spokesperson. The initiative challenging Abdixhiku reportedly originated from political figures including the Mayor of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, and Imri Ahmeti of Lipjan. These challenges are linked to reported dissatisfaction with the outcomes of the July 7 elections.
The Democratic Union of Kosovo members began to engage in discussions surrounding these internal political developments. Osmani was observed entering the LDK offices around noon as the political maneuvering unfolded. Her statement served to clarify the current status of the challenge, emphasizing that despite the visible political activity and the calls for action, the requisite physical signatures for a formal challenge against Abdixhiku have not been presented, according to Osmani.
