The President’s meetings are conditional, LVV remains firm with its candidates.

The PDK insists on conditions for meetings involving the president, while LVV remains firm regarding its candidate selections. Gazeta Express reported on February 4th, 2026, at 6:54. Deputy Mërgim Lushtaku of the PDK asserted that discussions between Bedri Hamza and Albin Kurti concerning the presidential election are illogical as long as the candidacies of Glauk Konjufca and Fatmire Mulhaxha-Kollçaku persist.

He emphasized that the PDK’s Steering Council would evaluate any invitation extended by Kurti. Lushtaku clarified that the PDK’s priority is the withdrawal of these candidacies initially. “We lack justification for meetings with Mr.

Kurti until this prerequisite is met,” he explained. “We recognize that even if the entire opposition presents a candidate, the individual receiving the greatest number of votes in the third round will ultimately prevail.”

The PDK maintains its stance, believing that a productive dialogue is contingent upon the removal of these specific candidacies. The party’s focus remains on securing a viable path forward for their presidential ambitions within the context of the upcoming election.

  1. The President’s engagements are subject to stipulations, and LVV maintains a resolute stance on its nominees.
