Bedri Hamza, the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, stated that discussions regarding governance should focus on established priorities rather than specific ministerial positions. Hamza made this statement shortly before meeting with Albin Kurti, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, at the Kosovo Parliament. When questioned about the feasibility of forming new institutions, Hamza outlined his platform, asserting that his campaign centered on key objectives.
“First, it’s about priorities because I ran with a program and I ran with some priorities,” Hamza stated. He clarified that his political platform was not defined by a roster of desired roles. Instead, he highlighted several core areas for national focus.
According to Hamza, the primary goals for the country included fostering a favorable environment for business development and strengthening partnerships with allied nations. Furthermore, he emphasized the necessity of increasing both salaries and pensions as crucial components of the national agenda. The meeting between Hamza and Kurti was anticipated to be constructive, as Kurti had invited Hamza to the discussion on Friday.
Both leaders are engaged in discussions aimed at charting a path forward for the political landscape. Hamza’s emphasis on shared strategic goals suggests a focus on substantive policy agreements rather than mere political maneuvering to secure specific posts.
