Konjufca: VV has names for president, awaiting meeting with LDK

The Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) has reportedly prepared a slate of names for the next presidency of Kosovo, according to statements made by the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Glauk Konjufca. However, Konjufca confirmed that these potential candidates will not be disclosed publicly until following a scheduled consultation with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). Konjufca indicated that both the VV leadership and the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, are prepared for the upcoming meeting with the leader of the LDK, Lumar Abdixhiku.

The primary expectation surrounding this gathering is the discussion of concrete names for the presidency. Speaking on the matter, Konjufca noted the readiness of the involved parties. He stated that given the LDK’s confirmation of their availability for discussions, and the established agenda focusing on proposing specific candidates for the presidency, the forthcoming meeting is crucial.

The statement suggests that the political alignment and consensus on the presidential successor are contingent upon the outcomes of this high-level discussion. The anticipation centers on whether the meeting between VV and the LDK will solidify a mutually acceptable candidate profile for the nation’s highest office. The focus remains on the procedural steps leading to a potential agreement, with the official announcement pending the conclusion of the scheduled talks involving Konjufca’s diplomatic efforts.
