Ilir Ferati, the secretary of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has issued a statement categorically denying reports concerning the collection of signatures for an extraordinary session of Parliament. According to Ferati, there is currently no ongoing initiative at the party headquarters to gather such signatures. He characterized the circulating reports regarding this potential action as unsubstantiated assumptions, lacking any basis in official information.
Ferati stated that he could find no verifiable source material supporting the claims made by various online portals. “I did not see any source of information in the reports of those portals. This is at the level of assumption.
I am at the headquarters and there is nothing, neither a collection nor official information,” the secretary declared. This statement comes in response to previous reports, including coverage from KosovoPress, which had indicated that efforts were being made to collect signatures related to a call for a vote of no confidence against the LDK chairman, Lumir Abdixhiku, scheduled for Tuesday, February 14. The official stance provided by Ferati dismisses these reports entirely.
He emphasized that the LDK headquarters has not initiated, nor is it aware of any ongoing process involving the collection of signatures for the purposes of calling for an extraordinary parliamentary meeting or any related internal challenge. The secretary’s declaration serves to clarify the current status of the party’s internal procedures regarding parliamentary action.
