The Special Court in Kosovo has requested explanations from several prominent historians and Albanologists regarding recent events in the region. In a formal letter, historian and Albanologist Shkëlzen Gashin, the author of an upcoming exhibition on the topic, was specifically asked to provide clarification. The request follows a period of heightened scrutiny surrounding the circumstances of the events in Kosovo over the past year.
The Prokuroris, the investigative unit of the Special Court, are seeking to understand the broader context and awareness surrounding these occurrences. As part of this inquiry, the court has also invited a group of established scholars to respond to a direct question. Florian Bieber, Konrad Clewing, Krisztián Csaplár-Degovics, Sir Noel Malcolm, Robert Pichler, Albert Ramaj, and Oliver Jens Schmitt have all been contacted.
Additionally, Kanë Thënë has been included in the list of individuals asked to address the matter. The purpose of this outreach is to gather information and assess the understanding of these experts concerning the events that transpired in Kosovo during the specified timeframe. The court intends to utilize these responses as part of its ongoing investigation.
