“We will not stop”—warnings of massive protests if the blockade for the formation of institutions continues

Deputies from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) escalated their protest actions on Thursday, continuing a blockade of the entrance to the Government of Kosovo for the sixth consecutive day. The demonstration was organized in response to what the party alleges is the failure to convene a constitutional session of the Parliament. The protest saw participation not only from PDK deputies but also from members of the Alliance, alongside PDK assembly members representing the Municipality of Vushtrri.

Participants reiterated their core demands: the immediate resumption of the legislative process within Parliament and the swift constitution of necessary state institutions. Vlera Tahiri, a PDK assembly member from Vushtrri, articulated the local concerns driving the protest. She emphasized that for the municipality to receive essential investments and development projects, the establishment of functional governmental institutions is a prerequisite.

Amidst the sustained civil action, sources reported that the protest movement indicated it would not cease its efforts. They warned that mass demonstrations would continue if the political deadlock regarding institutional formation does not resolve. The PDK maintains that their actions are a direct response to perceived governmental inaction.

The focus remains on forcing a return to the constitutional legislative agenda, suggesting that the current political stalemate will not be allowed to continue without further public pressure.
