The Internal Affairs Sector in Skopje has recovered the body of a 50-year-old woman from the Vardar river. The woman, previously reported missing, was found on March 11, 2026, at around 11:00. Police officers from the Skopje Internal Affairs Bureau retrieved the body, and a medical examiner from the Emergency Medical Service subsequently confirmed her death.
Following the retrieval, the body was transported for an autopsy as per the instructions of the public prosecutor. The deceased has been identified as A.H.I., a 50-year-old resident of Skopje. A family member initially reported that the woman had departed her home that morning, after 08:00, and failed to return.
An investigation was immediately launched at the scene of the incident. Competent institutions are currently working diligently to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. The discovery of the body in the Vardar river remains under active investigation in Skopje.
