AAK seeks a reduction in VAT and the removal of excise duties on derivatives. Kusari Lila: This is not a currently viable option.

The AAK Parliamentary Group’s head, Besnik Tahiri, has proposed immediate and critical steps to address rising prices. During today’s session at the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, he formally requested urgent government action. Tahiri emphasized the necessity for swift intervention, citing the substantial impact of derivative prices on basic food costs.

He contends that this escalation is significantly hindering the operations of the private sector. Specifically, he advocated for a minimum 50 percent VAT reduction on derivatives and the temporary removal of excise duties. These measures are presented as crucial to stabilizing the market.

The AAK representative submitted the request directly to the Minister of Trade, Industry and Innovation. The group believes that concrete implementation of these four proposed measures is essential. They are urging the government to prioritize these actions, recognizing the immediate need to counteract the inflationary pressures stemming from derivatives and support the continued functioning of the private sector.

The aim is to achieve a rapid and effective response to this challenging economic situation.
