Aco Ristov has been nominated for the new chairmanship of KRRE.

Aco Ristov, a seasoned electrical engineer, is being considered for the role of chairman of the Energy Regulatory Commission. He boasts considerable management expertise spanning diverse industries, including energy, hydropower, water supply, water treatment, mining, and infrastructure. This nomination comes after the departure of the prior chairman, Marko Bislimoski.

Today, seven members of the Committee for Elections and Appointments voiced their support for ristov’s appointment. However, the proposal garnered two dissenting votes, and there were no abstentions. The suggestion for aco’s position now requires ratification within a full plenary session.

Ristov’s background is particularly noteworthy, having originated from Radovishi and previously serving as its mayor from November 2021 through October 2025. This experience adds a valuable local perspective to his candidacy. Furthermore, Shamil Rexhepi from Tetova has also submitted an application for the chairmanship of the KRRE.

The confirmation process will determine who ultimately assumes this significant leadership role.
