Ahmeti: BDI forms the new generation, I will not be the leader but I will become a veteran

At the Electoral Parliament of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti addressed the membership, asserting that the party remains the most organized entity within Kosovo and the surrounding region. Ahmeti emphasized significant internal restructuring, noting that the party leadership has seen an 83% turnover, alongside a 73% change in the leadership of the Kumanovë branch. He attributed this shift to the founding figures of UÇK and the BDI, stating that they successfully created opportunities for newer generations.

Ahmeti referenced the guiding principle of the BDI, which he stated was: “that the party and the new generations will rise.”

Regarding established figures, Ahmeti mentioned Sadullah Duraku, who is slated for an appointment to the veterans’ committee. However, Ahmeti clarified that even in this role, Duraku will not retain the status of party leader, transitioning instead to a veteran status. Overall, Ahmeti maintained that the party possesses a highly established and robust structure, asserting that no other political force matches its organizational capacity.

His statements centered on the continuity and evolution of the political movement, highlighting the integration of new leadership while acknowledging the contributions of past figures. The address reinforced the narrative of the party’s enduring relevance and organizational depth within the national political landscape.
