A study conducted by the Kosovo Business Alliance (AKB) indicates that citizens from Kosovo represent the largest segment of both investors and consumers within the Albanian tourism market. The research, which covered a period spanning May 28 to June 28, 2026, analyzed data across five consecutive weekends. The findings reveal that an average of approximately 25,000 Kosovo citizens visit Albania over a weekend period.
During these visits, which typically last two to three nights, the average expenditure per person is calculated to be at least €300. This spending encompasses a wide range of services, including accommodation, dining, beverages, local transportation, gasoline derivatives, road taxes, entertainment, and general purchases. Based on these metrics, the AKB determined that Kosovo citizens collectively spend an estimated €7.5 million within the Albanian economy each weekend.
Extrapolating this data across the full tourist season, which runs from May 1 to October 30, 2026, and encompasses 26 weekends, provides a broader economic projection. The study quantifies the significant financial contribution made by this demographic to the national tourism revenue stream.
