PRISHTINA – The New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) announced today that the Central Election Commission (CEC) has lifted the suspension of its political subject, effective immediately. The decision follows the AKR’s fulfillment of all legal obligations outlined by the Office for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political Subjects. The suspension, initially imposed on March 12, 2026, stemmed from the CEC’s assessment of the AKR’s status.
According to official records, the measure was lifted after the AKR adhered to the stipulated 45-day deadline. This period included the holding of the AKR’s Electoral Congress and the completion of all necessary procedural requirements. “AKR views this development as a crucial step in the continued institutional and political strengthening of our organization,” a statement from the AKR read.
