As of October 1, unauthorized movement in the forests of Macedonia will be prohibited.

Prime Minister Christian Mickoski stated that the government has implemented comprehensive measures to manage the current wildfire season. He confirmed that all necessary preparations are in place, noting that the three dedicated aircraft for wildfire suppression have undergone timely servicing, and specialized military vehicles equipped for fire intervention have also been repaired. In addition to equipment readiness, the government has issued a directive concerning forest access.

Starting January 1st, movement within forest areas will be suspended unless proper permits are obtained. Mickoski elaborated that this decision mandates municipalities to inspect all collective entities, depots, and other potentially hazardous areas. Furthermore, these areas will be immediately sanctioned if they fail to meet established safety standards.

While reiterating the thorough preparations undertaken by the authorities, the Prime Minister acknowledged the inherent risks associated with the current season. He stressed that despite the comprehensive measures taken by the government to manage the wildfire threat, the prevailing seasonal conditions necessitate strict adherence to new regulations. The new rules governing movement aim to mitigate risks by controlling access to sensitive forest zones.
