At the request of the victim’s family, the appeal session against the accused for the murder of the kunat is closed.

At the Court of Appeals, proceedings in the case involving Nazmije Millaku, who is accused of the murder of her brother-in-law, Xh.M., were adjourned at the request of the injured party, S.M. This case follows a previous ruling delivered by the Basic Court in Pristina on March 9, 2026. During that hearing, the court found the accused Millaku guilty of the criminal act of “Aggravated Murder,” resulting in a sentence of 20 years imprisonment.

However, the court acquitted her regarding the charge of “Unauthorized Possession of Weapons.”

The current adjournment at the appellate level was prompted by concerns over witness safety. The injured party, S.M., formally submitted a request to the court to pause the session to ensure the protection of the identities of the accused Millaku’s children, who have testified during the proceedings. This concern was echoed by the defense attorney for the accused, lawyer Mirvete Hashani, who also proposed an adjournment for the same stated reasons.

Despite these submissions, the accused expressed disagreement with the adjournment, stating a contradiction to the procedural pause. The proceedings remain subject to the court’s final determination following the various submissions made by the parties involved.
