VLEN Responds to BDI Calls for Izet Mexhiti’s Resignation
The investigative unit VLEN (Veljača League for Nationalist Integration) has responded to the demands made by the Democratic Party of Albanians (BDI) for the resignation of Izet Mexhiti. VLEN asserts that Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski exerts control over BDI through a 320-page document. In a statement, VLEN characterized the situation as “the party returning to its only fabricated configuration, the spread of disinformation, and being stretched as a political victim.” The unit contends that public sentiment has shifted, marking an end to concealing criminal activity behind national symbols.
Specifically, VLEN referenced the historical relationship between the BDI and Sasho Mijalkov, stating that BDI were and remain “his most loyal servants.” The statement alluded to close connections between the BDI, led by Izet Mexhiti, and Mijalkov, a figure previously implicated in organized crime. The unit further noted that Ali Ahmeti and his associates are now referencing “honor and national interests,” a claim VLEN disputes given the documented history. The public’s awareness of past activities, supported by archived evidence, contradicts these assertions.
The BDI’s stance regarding Izet Mexhiti remains a point of contention following their recent demands.
