The Bank of Kosovo (BQK) has issued a public alert regarding a widespread and fraudulent campaign utilizing SMS messages. The campaign involves deceptive notifications falsely claiming to originate from legitimate commercial banks. These messages are designed to trick recipients into divulging sensitive financial information.
According to the BQK’s official notice, the fraudulent messages frequently contain fabricated links and demand immediate action, mimicking the urgency typically associated with official banking communications. The institution stresses the importance of heightened vigilance among citizens to prevent falling victim to these scams. BQK has repeatedly cautioned against sharing personal data, including account details, through any unsolicited communication, particularly via SMS, email, or telephone.
