Qalibaf Says US Lacks Alternative to Accepting Iranian Proposal
Tehran, May 12, 2026 – Iranian chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf asserted that the United States has “no alternative” but to accept the latest proposal from Tehran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. Speaking on X, Qalibaf, who also serves as Chairman of the Iranian Parliament, stated, “There is no alternative but to accept the right of the Iranian people as it is described in the 14-point proposal.”
Qalibaf warned that any deviation from this proposal would be “completely fruitless, nothing more than a new failure.” The 14-point proposal, details of which remain largely undisclosed, represents Tehran’s latest attempt to resolve the situation. Adding to this stance, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei announced on May 11th that Tehran had delivered its response to the US through Pakistan as an intermediary.
