New Political Movement, VLEN, Announces Congress and Party Formation
VLEN, a recently formed movement, has announced its inaugural congress will take place on May 9th, marking the transition into a fully registered political party. The announcement was made in an interview with Tv Sitel by Izet Mexhiti, the movement’s founder. Mexhiti stated that vlen has introduced increased competition within the Albanian political landscape, effectively challenging the established dominance of the Democratic Union for Integration.
He asserted that this competition ultimately benefits citizens by fostering a more robust and efficient government. The newly formed party will be co-led by Mexhiti and Bilall Kasami, with Bekim Sali appointed as general secretary. Mexhiti clarified that vlen will maintain a clear political orientation within the center-right spectrum and intends to operate independently of government partnerships.
