North Macedonia Pursues Continued Extradition Efforts for Nikola Gruevski
Skopje – According to ZNAM head Maksim Dimitrievski, the extradition process for former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski remains active and will necessitate a renewed extradition request. Dimitrievski stated that this follows an ongoing procedure currently underway with Hungary, a key element in the effort. Speaking to “Telma,” Dimitrievski clarified that a formal extradition request is being submitted to Hungary.
He acknowledged anticipated political developments within the Hungarian government but also expressed concerns regarding previous responses to the case. “The formation of a new government is expected, but also that there will be another extradition request,” Dimitrievski explained. He further indicated that the submission of this new request represents an institutional obligation.
Dimitrievski’s comments address earlier statements regarding the status of the extradition. While acknowledging the complexities involved, he emphasized the continued pursuit of bringing Nikola Gruevski back to face legal proceedings. The process is ongoing, with the next extradition request anticipated.
